Social Visitor Volunteer – Piano & Story Sharing

About the role

A quiet home in Lansvale is looking for a kind-hearted female volunteer to visit an elderly lady living alone who spends her days surrounded by her memories, music and simple pleasures. The volunteer shares life's small moments with her, whether playing the piano together or turning the pages of a story, bringing comfort, companionship and a friendly presence to her week.

Key responsibilities

• Visit the resident on Wednesdays or Fridays between 10am and 4pm, for 30 minutes to an hour.
• Share a gentle conversation, listen and exchange thoughts and reflections.
• Play the piano together or read and share stories.
• Meet weekly or fortnightly depending on availability.

Required profile

• 18 years or older.
• National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
• Enjoys gentle conversation, listening and sharing quiet, heartfelt moments.

HammondCare is an independent Christian charity providing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme, funded by the Australian Government, which connects elderly people with volunteers in their local community.
