Site Supervisor - Warehouse Automation Projects

About the role

Dematic, a global leader in intelligent logistics solutions, is looking for an experienced Site Supervisor to join its Project Delivery team in Melbourne. The role coordinates installation, commissioning and engineering activities on site for large-scale warehouse automation projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. It is an 18-month full-time fixed-term contract position (with the possibility of extension).

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review drawings and plans for mechanical and electrical installations.
• Liaise with clients, direct builders and subcontractors.
• Promote innovation, improvement, risk identification and safety management, covering occupational health, safety and the environment.
• Obtain the necessary materials and resources.
• Organise and supervise inspection and maintenance of installed equipment.
• Manage subcontractors day to day and coordinate regular inspections for quality assurance.
• Coordinate commissioning and ensure safe installation procedures.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a Site Supervisor/Manager installing large capital projects.
• Mechanical and/or electrical trade background.
• Thorough knowledge of WHSE requirements.
• Availability to travel interstate and overseas (APAC region) when required.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of material handling equipment (an advantage)
• Strong and clear communication skills
• Proven team leadership skills
• Strong computer skills in MS Office products
