Site Mechanical Engineer – Solar Farm & BESS

About the role

Join Applus+ Renewable Energy Services as a Site Mechanical Engineer on a solar farm and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) located on the Fraser Coast. You will lead mechanical installation activities, ensuring safe, high‑quality delivery in line with project specifications and schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate on‑site mechanical works including piling, tracker and module installation, DC mechanical works, inverter station and BESS installations.
• Ensure all activities comply with IFC drawings, OEM requirements, Australian construction standards and WHS regulations.
• Monitor installation quality – alignment, torque checks, and adherence to Golden Row standards.
• Conduct daily coordination with EPC contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and logistics teams.
• Perform site walk‑downs, inspections, defect and punch‑list management.
• Track progress against construction schedules, identify risks and report on safety, quality and construction issues.
• Support safe lifting operations and collaborate closely with electrical and commissioning teams.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of experience supervising mechanical construction on utility‑scale solar projects.
• Proven background in piling, tracker, PV module, DC, inverter station and BESS mechanical installations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of Australian construction standards and WHS regulations.
• Valid White Card, current driver’s licence and willingness to work on remote sites.
