Site Manager – Construction (Newcastle & Hunter Region)

About the role

Transgrid is looking for experienced Site Managers to join its Infrastructure Delivery, Construction team. Based in the Newcastle & Hunter Region, you will oversee the safe delivery of construction works on high‑voltage substations and building projects across NSW and the ACT.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate construction activities across substation and building sites.
• Monitor contractor performance, progress, safety and quality.
• Inspect works to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Maintain site records, construction forms, diaries and as‑built documentation.
• Support testing, commissioning, fault finding and project handover activities.
• Attend site progress meetings and resolve technical or contractual issues.
• Ensure completion of ITPs, commissioning check sheets and related documentation.
• Escalate emerging site, outage, safety or delivery risks to the Construction Team Manager.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing construction sites, preferably in high‑voltage or utility environments.
• Ability to work in a field‑based role with regular travel across NSW.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with contractors, project teams and internal stakeholders.
