Site Group Manager - Automation Projects

About the role

Dematic is looking for an experienced Site Group Manager to lead a team of Site Managers and Site Supervisors on its major automation projects. This is a hands-on leadership role based permanently in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, with frequent travel to project sites. The role focuses on building a capable team through coaching and mentoring, and on driving consistent standards of safety, quality and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Site Managers and Site Supervisors, setting clear expectations and driving high performance
• Maintain regular check-ins with the team, giving ongoing feedback, coaching, mentoring and support
• Recruit and develop site talent, building capability and supporting succession
• Travel frequently to project sites to support the team and stay present on site
• Provide site expertise for installation planning, project estimates, proposals and site reviews
• Improve site processes, procedures and ways of working
• Champion a strong safety culture, accountability and continuous improvement across the Sites Group

Required profile

• Relevant qualifications or experience in construction, trades, site management or an engineering discipline
• Proven site installation experience in complex project environments
• Sound commercial and contract management experience, including project cost and schedule control
• Strong people leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to problem solve, influence and negotiate, and to manage competing priorities

Required skills

• Working knowledge of WHS legislation and statutory requirements
• Knowledge of material handling systems (desired)
