Site Engineer - Greenfield Rail Project

About the role

ACCIONA is recruiting a Site Engineer for a greenfield rail project in Brisbane, Queensland. The project is Stage 1 of The Wave, 19 km of dual-track passenger rail between Beerwah and Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast, delivered under CoastalTraX. The role reports to the Project Engineer and Senior Project Engineer and covers an assigned area of the works, working hands-on from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Plan short-term programs and resources for an assigned area of the works
• Monitor project costs and productivity to protect margins and meet reporting deadlines
• Support contract delivery and help negotiate subcontract and supply agreements
• Lead by example on safety and help prepare Safe Work Method Statements
• Prepare inspection test reports and close out non-conformances and defects
• Build strong relationships with the client, subcontractors and local government authorities, and help resolve client concerns promptly

Required profile

• Engineering degree, diploma or equivalent qualification
• Valid C class driver licence
• Valid Construction Safety Awareness Card
• Desirable: experience in a construction or engineering setting
• Desirable: Certificate IV in Project Management or equivalent
