Sessional Lecturer – Early Childhood Education

About the role

Ikon is seeking passionate sessional lecturers to teach Early Childhood Education on its Haymarket campus in Sydney. The role offers flexible shifts across mornings, afternoons, and evenings, with a focus on delivering engaging face‑to‑face and online learning experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the Early Childhood Education course using on‑campus and digital methodologies.
• Facilitate student engagement, provide consultation, and communicate student issues to the Head of Faculty.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of subject content.
• Participate in weekly subject forums, mark assessments within set timeframes, and engage in moderation and benchmarking activities.
• Attend faculty meetings, student consultations, and contribute to scholarly practice as required.

Required profile

• PhD or master’s qualification in Early Childhood Education or a directly related field.
• Minimum 2 years (preferably 5 + years) of professional experience in the discipline.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
• Passion for education and commitment to continuous professional development.
