Service Technician (Valves & Actuators) - Temp to Perm

About the role

A leading provider of technology, engineering and industrial solutions, based in Wangara, is seeking a Service Technician for its workshop team. The role is Monday to Friday, workshop-based in Wangara, and involves servicing, maintaining and repairing valves, actuators and associated flow control equipment. It suits a mechanically minded person who can work autonomously and keep a strong focus on safety.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose faults, service and repair valves, actuators, pumps and associated flow control equipment.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair and reassemble mechanical components in the workshop.
• Carry out fault finding and repairs on pneumatic and electro-pneumatic control systems.
• Complete condition reports, document repair findings and keep accurate job records.
• Finish work safely and in line with quality standards and workshop procedures.
• Manage daily workloads to meet customer requirements and delivery deadlines.
• Keep the workshop clean, safe and organised and look for process improvements.

Required profile

• Mechanical trade qualification (Fitter) or demonstrated experience in mechanical maintenance and repairs.
• Previous experience using hand and power tools in a workshop or industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Current driver's licence (essential).
• Previous exposure to valve, pump and actuator servicing or repairs (highly regarded).
• Commitment to workplace health and safety, quality workmanship and attention to detail.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with flexibility for reasonable overtime.

Required skills

• Pneumatic and electro-pneumatic systems (advantageous)
• Forklift and Dogging (HRW) licences (highly regarded)
