Senior Water Resources Engineer – Relocate to Townsville

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team, focusing on drainage and flood engineering projects. The role is based in Townsville, offering relocation assistance and a lifestyle with excellent work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical designs for drainage, stormwater management plans and hydraulic assessments for local council and major infrastructure projects.
• Provide specialist input using software such as Civil3D, 12D, TUFLOW, DRAINS, URBS, RORB, XP‑Rafts and WBNM.
• Mentor junior engineers, support project teams with technical guidance and quality assurance.
• Engage with clients, regulators and stakeholders to offer trusted advice and contribute to business development.

Required profile

• 5‑15 years of experience in drainage/flood modelling and design.
• Recognised engineer (RPEQ preferred or ability to apply).
• Proven experience delivering major infrastructure projects in a consulting environment.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and commercial awareness.

Required skills

• 12D, Civil3D, TUFLOW, DRAINS, URBS, RORB, XP‑Rafts, WBNM.
• QGIS or ArcGIS.
• Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis.
