Senior Warehouse Specialist

About the role

The Senior Warehouse Specialist will join Saab Australia's warehouse team, overseeing warehouse management and coordinating both international and domestic logistics. The role supports day‑to‑day operations, ensuring safe handling, storage, and transport of hardware and other tangible items under Saab's control.

Key responsibilities

• Lead management of international and domestic freight to meet operational requirements.
• Coordinate export/import control, security, quality assurance, and ITAR‑controlled product handling.
• Develop and maintain warehouse management processes, tools, and work instructions.
• Process goods according to company procedures, including receipt inspection and dispatch.
• Support WHS&E compliance, conduct audits, and deliver training.
• Assist projects and corporate teams with hardware storage and delivery activities.
• Manage inventory and support technical teams with packaging, handling, storage, and transport of equipment.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain Defence Security Clearance (baseline/NV1/NV2).
• 5+ years of experience in transport and logistics, preferably within the defence or aerospace sector.
• Strong understanding of supply chain, import/export control, configuration management, and quality control principles.
• Experience working in an ISO 9001‑certified environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., IFS).
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of ITAR regulations and ability to obtain handling approval.
• Forklift licence and practical forklift experience.
• Diploma in Logistics Management or equivalent.
• Certificate III in International Freight Forwarding (Operator).
