Senior Technical Consultant

About the role

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Senior Technical Consultant to lead technical delivery of industrial digital engagements, defining solution designs and implementation strategies while acting as a trusted advisor to clients deploying industrial data platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and architect end‑to‑end information solutions, including data models, integration patterns and system architectures for manufacturing environments.
• Lead client workshops, gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications and oversee development, testing, installation and support.
• Implement data ingestion, contextualisation, visualisation workflows, APIs and integration services following CI/CD and code quality standards.
• Mentor junior staff, stay current with industrial data platforms and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field and legal right to work in Australia.
• 8‑10 years of experience with systems integrators, consulting firms or industrial technology providers.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams, manage client‑facing delivery and travel up to 25% to customer sites.

Required skills

• Industrial data platforms such as Cognite Data Fusion, FactoryTalk Data Mosaix, FactoryTalk Optix, PTC ThingWorx.
• Experience with historians, SCADA, PLCs, MES, ERP systems.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL and RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies, data modelling and time‑series data contextualisation.
