Senior Technical Business Analyst - Technology Transformation

About the role

A major organisation in the critical infrastructure sector is undertaking a multi-year technology transformation programme covering infrastructure, cyber security, data, enterprise systems and operational technology, moving from design into implementation. West Recruitment is recruiting a Senior Technical Business Analyst on a day-rate contract of $1000 per day, with immediate start in Parramatta under a hybrid arrangement. Applicants must already be permanently based in Sydney and be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

Key responsibilities

• Lead requirements gathering, stakeholder workshops and business analysis across several technology projects
• Translate complex business needs into clear functional and technical requirements
• Prepare documentation for senior GMs and board members, including business cases, Statements of Work (SOWs), funding submissions and supporting documents
• Partner with Solution Architects and external vendors to define scope, specifications and deliverables
• Engage stakeholders proactively, challenge assumptions and recommend solutions
• Identify and manage dependencies across interconnected projects and programs
• Support technology initiatives from early discovery through implementation and operational transition

Required profile

• Seasoned Business Analyst with extensive experience on complex technology projects
• Background in critical infrastructure, enterprise asset management, energy, utilities, construction, engineering or other regulated industries
• Broad technical exposure across infrastructure, cyber security, data or enterprise applications
• Strong financial and commercial understanding, especially of business cases, funding and vendor engagement
• Experience developing business cases, SOWs, technical requirements and executive-level documentation
• Ability to work autonomously in ambiguous or less mature delivery environments
