Senior Taxation Accountant

About the role

Cleanaway, a national, high-growth, ASX-listed waste management company, is hiring a Senior Taxation Accountant for its Brisbane-based Group Tax team. The role supports corporate tax compliance across the group, delivering accurate and compliant tax returns and statutory reporting, with opportunities to contribute to broader advisory work.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare corporate income tax returns, including tax adjustments and supporting workpapers
• Prepare and support timely GST and FBT compliance obligations
• Contribute to half-year and year-end statutory tax reporting, including tax-effect accounting
• Research tax legislation and give practical advice to Finance and business stakeholders
• Support responses to ATO enquiries, reviews and audits
• Work with tax colleagues to maintain compliance, share knowledge and cover the team

Required profile

• Hands-on corporate income tax experience, able to explain technical matters clearly, ideally from professional services or in-house corporate tax teams
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce or Law
• CA or CPA qualified
• Direct experience preparing company income tax returns and related adjustments for large, ASX-listed businesses
• Working knowledge of Australian corporate tax compliance and legislation
• Clear written and verbal communication with business stakeholders
