Senior Tax Manager – Investment Management

About the role

This senior role is within a well‑established investment manager and is focused on leading tax governance, compliance and risk management for superannuation and financial services. The successful candidate will shape tax strategy, ensure adherence to Australian tax legislation and support senior decision‑making across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the tax function, ensuring compliance with income tax, GST and withholding tax obligations.
• Oversee accurate, timely tax reporting, lodgments and regulatory submissions.
• Provide strategic tax planning and structuring advice while maintaining compliance integrity.
• Manage relationships with the ATO, auditors and external tax advisors.
• Monitor legislative changes and implement updates to policies, controls and reporting frameworks.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of tax professionals.
• Drive enhancements to tax processes, systems and governance frameworks.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified with extensive tax experience in superannuation, funds management or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws, regulatory requirements and compliance obligations.
• Proven leadership experience managing high‑performing teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to influence senior leaders.
• Analytical, proactive and risk‑aware mindset.
