Senior Tax Manager - Advisory & Compliance

About the role

The client is a large global financial services organisation seeking a Senior Tax Manager to lead Australian finance and tax functions. This newly created position focuses on oversight, review and coordination of internal teams and external service providers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee financial and tax reporting for all Australian legal entities, including income tax, GST, FBT, PAYG and payroll tax.
• Manage reporting for funds and distribution cycles, covering income tax, GST and related taxes.
• Produce divisional, regional and group management reports and profitability analysis.
• Drive business planning, budgeting and cost‑efficiency initiatives with senior management.
• Coordinate external auditors, tax consultants, fund administrators and registry providers to meet deadlines.
• Provide operational and technical advice for new product launches and oversee accounts payable/receivable functions.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years experience in a Big 4 consulting or top‑tier law firm, preferably at Senior Manager level.
• CA/CPA/CTA qualification or equivalent with relevant tertiary education.
• Strong knowledge of Australian taxation and financial accounting regulations.

Required skills

• Tax compliance (income tax, GST, FBT, PAYG, payroll tax).
• Financial reporting and management accounting.
• Audit control and preparation of GS007 reports.
• Dividend distribution accounting and franking account management.
