Senior Tax Advisory Consultant

About the role

KPMG is seeking a Senior Consultant to join its Tax Advisory team, supporting a diverse private and mid‑market client base across Australia. You will work closely with managers, senior team members and partners to deliver high‑quality tax compliance and advisory outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver income tax returns for companies, trusts, private groups and corporate groups.
• Provide tax‑focused advisory on business restructures, mergers and acquisitions, and international expansion.
• Support ATO reviews and audits by preparing technical responses and documentation.
• Address complex income‑tax issues such as capital gains tax rollovers, tax consolidation, tax loss utilisation, Division 7A, thin capitalisation and global entity considerations.
• Develop and deliver tax risk‑management and governance frameworks for businesses and groups.
• Conduct technical tax research and apply legislation, ATO guidance and case law to client scenarios.
• Ensure accurate, timely delivery of all client work and collaborate with senior leaders to deliver integrated outcomes.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex tax concepts for varied stakeholders.
• Commercially minded, proactive and passionate about delivering high‑quality client outcomes.
• Comfortable preparing client‑ready deliverables, contributing to discussions, presenting to senior leadership and handling practical tax matters.
