Senior Systems Engineer

About the role

Vertical Scope Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join its Professional Services team. The role supports whole‑of‑life capability management, technical assurance, engineering governance and complex systems integration for nationally significant defence and security programs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist advice on technical assurance, compliance and progress across complex capability environments.
• Deliver systems engineering expertise, including engineering assurance reviews and technical information assessments.
• Develop and maintain engineering processes, procedures, guidelines and certification frameworks.
• Support whole‑of‑life capability management through requirements development, monitoring, reporting and acceptance.
• Contribute to engineering planning, governance, change management and asset management activities.
• Collaborate with delivery teams, government stakeholders and cross‑functional partners to achieve program objectives.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in systems engineering, systems integration or complex engineering environments.
• Degree in Systems Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience managing engineering aspects of capability programs in government or industry.
• Understanding of technical certification, engineering assurance and compliance processes.
• Strong capability in requirements development, management and technical documentation.
