Senior Systems Engineer – Gosford (Onsite)

About the role
We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our client’s IT team in Gosford. This hands‑on senior position will act as the technical anchor for a national organisation of 750+ employees, combining infrastructure engineering with people leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop the IT Service Desk team, establishing high standards for ticket triage, escalation and customer service.
- Serve as senior escalation point for complex technical issues and drive continuous improvement of support processes.
- Own and maintain the WAN across 20+ national sites, managing Cisco and Ubiquiti routers, switches, wireless networks and site‑to‑site connectivity.
- Maintain core data‑centre infrastructure, routing and switching environments.
- Administer the XCP‑ng virtualization platform and associated workloads.
- Manage Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP services.
- Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint and Entra ID.
- Oversee endpoint management, remote monitoring tools and endpoint security solutions.
Required profile
- Must reside within 45 km of Gosford or be willing to relocate.
- Full‑time, onsite during probation with hybrid option (up to 2 days remote) after probation.
- Senior‑level experience in infrastructure engineering and team leadership.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to manage large‑scale network and system projects.
