Senior Structures & Payloads Design Engineer

About the role

Boeing is seeking a Senior Structures & Payloads Design Engineer to support the E-7A Wedgetail airborne surveillance, communications and battle management system. The role will be part of a multi‑disciplinary team delivering capability upgrades from concept through to in‑service aircraft.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor junior engineers within the structures and payloads domain.
• Provide technical leadership for multiple aerospace mechanical/structural design projects.
• Develop modification and installation designs for mid‑service life aircraft.
• Produce engineering artefacts, analysis documentation, certification evidence and modification instructions.
• Perform basic and detailed structural analysis (static strength, durability/fatigue and damage tolerance) using classical techniques and Boeing tools.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship to meet defence security requirements.
• Bachelor of Engineering in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical or related discipline meeting Engineers Australia membership criteria.
• 5+ years of aviation engineering experience, including design development and authorised documentation.
• Experience in regulated aviation environments such as DASR, CASA, FAA or EASA is highly desired.
