Senior Structural Engineer

About the role

WGA, an AtkinsRéalis company, is a multidisciplinary engineering and project management consultancy serving Australia and New Zealand. Its Darwin office is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to lead and contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects across the region, ranging from commercial and industrial developments to transport and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Lead structural design and documentation for buildings, infrastructure and industrial projects
• Manage project delivery from concept through to construction
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers
• Liaise with clients, architects and other stakeholders to ensure project success
• Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and NT-specific regulations
• Contribute to business development and client engagement

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
• At least 8 years of experience in structural engineering, ideally with projects in the Northern Territory or other regional areas
• Confident, capable engineer with a strong technical foundation, project and team management experience and a collaborative mindset
• Chartered status (CPEng) or active progress toward chartership is highly regarded

Required skills

• Structural design software such as SpaceGass, ETABS, RAM and Revit
• Solid understanding of structural systems and materials including steel, concrete, timber and masonry
• Strong communication skills and ability to develop and mentor others
