Senior Structural Engineer

About the role

A well-established multidisciplinary consultancy, a key player in Melbourne's built environment with a strong record on education, commercial and retail projects, is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer. You will play a lead role in delivering building projects for private and public sector clients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs and specifications for structures.
• Work with architects, contractors and other professionals so designs are feasible, practical and within budget.
• Oversee construction so designs are implemented correctly and structures meet specifications and standards.
• Carry out regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress, spot issues and ensure compliance with regulations and codes.
• Coordinate junior engineers and drafters, giving guidance, delegating tasks and supporting them.

Required profile

• About 6+ years of structural engineering experience on multistory building projects.
• Proven ability to design and analyse commercial and institutional buildings such as medium-rise multipurpose, schools, healthcare and university buildings.
• Experience managing resources, coordinating teams and working directly with clients.
• Ability to lead and mentor engineers and drafters on project delivery.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a proactive, practical and solutions-driven approach.
