Senior Structural Engineer – Buildings

About the role

AECOM is seeking a motivated Senior Structural Engineer to join its Buildings + Places Structures team in Adelaide. You will work on a diverse portfolio of building projects across sectors such as aviation, sport, culture, education, healthcare and transport, delivering innovative and sustainable structural solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate structural design and delivery for projects across multiple market sectors.
• Prepare and review analysis, calculations, design reports, specifications and engineering documentation ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and the NCC/BCA.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, efficient and sustainable design outcomes.
• Manage project deliverables, timelines, budgets and stakeholder relationships.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in structural engineering, preferably within a consulting environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Australian citizenship with current or previous defence clearance (or equivalent security clearance).

Required skills

• Proficiency in SpaceGass, ETABS, RAPT and Structural Toolkit.
• Experience with SAP2000, RAM, IdeaStatiCa and Grasshopper (preferred).
• Seismic structures experience.
• Knowledge of NSQEP (highly preferred, not essential).
