Senior Staff Specialist Consultant Psychiatrist – Full‑time

About the role

ME Medical Recruitment is seeking a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (Consultant Psychiatrist) for a full‑time appointment in the North West Queensland health sector. Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced specialist psychiatric care through the Integrated Mount Isa Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drug Service, including the Homeless Health Outreach Team and remote lower Gulf locations.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, contribute to strategic service planning, and drive continuous improvement of mental health services.
• Deliver safe, culturally responsive mental health interventions and collaborate with local stakeholders to improve access in regional and remote settings.

Required profile

• MBBS degree or equivalent with General or Special Purpose Registrant status on the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• FRANZCP fellowship or equivalent recognised credential and current specialist registration in Psychiatry.
• Eligibility to complete Mental Health Act 2016 training as an Authorised Doctor/Psychiatrist and hold a C‑class driver’s licence.
• Commitment to public health, especially Indigenous, rural and remote mental health, and ability to pass pre‑employment screening.
