Senior Solution Engineer – Federal Public Sector

About the role

Snowflake is seeking an experienced Senior Solution Engineer to drive growth and technical strategy within the Australian Federal Public Sector. Based in Canberra, this office‑based role involves close collaboration with sales, channel partners, and government customers to solve complex data challenges and close large deals.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Sales Executives to navigate and win complex sales cycles.
• Identify and develop technical and executive champions within target Federal Public Sector accounts.
• Architect high‑impact solutions by translating customer requirements into Snowflake capabilities.
• Deliver hands‑on demos, whiteboarding, and Proof‑of‑Concept executions.
• Present Snowflake’s technology and roadmap to senior government stakeholders.

Required profile

• Active Australian Government Security Clearance (NV1 or higher preferred) or willingness to obtain one.
• 10+ years of technical industry experience, with at least 5 years in a pre‑sales/solution engineering role.
• Strong presentation and storytelling skills for both technical and executive audiences.
• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.

Required skills

• Broad experience with enterprise‑scale database and data‑warehouse technologies, ETL, analytics and cloud platforms (Data Lake, Data Mesh, Data Fabric).
• Hands‑on expertise with SQL, SQL analytics and Python.
• Ability to perform deep discovery of customer architectures and map them to Snowflake’s data architecture.
