Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack (TypeScript)

About the role

Unloan is a fully digital home loan platform backed by CBA, and its Platform team is a small group of senior engineers with autonomy to solve complex problems. As a Senior Software Engineer in the Platform Team, you will design, build and own production software end to end, working across the full stack with TypeScript, Node.js and Python, and supporting the platform services your software depends on.

Key responsibilities

• Build applications, APIs, integrations and automation, taking each item through testing, deployment and production support
• Solve complex engineering problems, integrate distributed systems and use AI-assisted development to automate workflows
• Support platform services, helping modernise CI/CD, automate operations and improve reliability and security
• Debug complex production issues across application, network and platform layers, and automate repetitive operational work

Required profile

• Strong engineering background, hands-on with production code
• Full-stack engineer able to work across front-end, back-end, APIs, services and platform integrations
• End-to-end ownership from design and development through deployment, production support and continuous improvement
• Strong Linux experience, including troubleshooting applications, services and production environments
• Confident with AI-assisted development, able to build, review, test and productionise AI-powered agents and workflows
• Able to connect complex systems via APIs, events, queues and distributed integration patterns
• Experience across several of the listed technologies; not expected to know everything

Required skills

• TypeScript (essential), Node.js, Python or Go
• RESTful APIs, Kubernetes, Docker and container-based platforms
• Azure (preferred), AWS, GitHub Actions, Terraform or Bicep
• Monitoring and observability tooling
• DNS, TLS, routing and network security basics
