Senior Software Engineer – Edge to Cloud

About the role

Haltivision is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to bridge cutting‑edge AI algorithms and real‑world edge devices. You will develop production‑grade software that runs on constrained IoT cameras at intersections and later enriches the captured events in the cloud.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Senior Technical Architect to translate advanced algorithms into production‑grade code for edge cameras and IoT devices.
• Design, implement and maintain on‑device software using Python in containerised components on AWS IoT and Greengrass.
• Build and operate the cloud enrichment pipeline (Node.js/TypeScript on AWS) that turns raw edge events into evidence‑grade outcomes.
• Choose appropriate technologies, enforce coding standards, conduct code reviews and mentor junior team members.
• Ensure performance, reliability and security of software running on constrained, sometimes‑offline hardware.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience with a senior‑level mindset.
• Strong command of Python and solid experience with Node.js/TypeScript for cloud services.
• Deep understanding of object‑oriented design, clean code, automated testing, CI/CD and secure‑by‑design practices.
• Proven ability to profile and optimise software for limited resources.
