Senior Software Engineer - AI-First Full Stack

About the role

Nexl, a fast-growing LegalTech company building an AI-driven CRM and growth intelligence platform, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. You will be technically rigorous, highly autonomous and able to shape how the company builds its platform. You will work in a cross-functional squad with your Tech Lead, Product Manager and shared Designer, using AI tools such as Claude Code and Cursor as core to how the team ships.

Key responsibilities

• Design and ship features end-to-end in React/TypeScript and Ruby on Rails or Python, owning the outcome from architecture through release.
• Use Claude Code, Cursor and similar agentic tools as a genuine development partner, and build shared AI workflows for the squad.
• Own system design, data modelling, security and technical debt.
• Set a high bar for code quality, including AI-generated code, and review it for correctness, security, performance and maintainability.
• Own reliability and scalability, improving observability and reducing production incidents.
• Work closely with the Tech Lead, Product Manager and Design, and help colleagues improve their use of AI tools.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in full-stack architecture, system design, data modelling, debugging and security.
• Ability to critically assess AI-generated code and know when to push back, refactor or start over.
• Strong understanding of database design and optimisation, including indexing and query optimisation.
• Ownership mindset, operating with minimal direction and driving outcomes end-to-end.

Required skills

• React and TypeScript.
• Ruby on Rails or Python.
• PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Nice to have: GraphQL, gRPC, WebSockets, multi-tenant SaaS experience, Marketing Tech or CRM-like systems, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, AWS or Azure, LegalTech experience, and multi-agent system design.
