Senior Security Operations Analyst

About the role

As a Senior Security Operations Analyst you will protect Australian Payments Plus' technology environments by identifying, investigating and responding to security events and incidents. You will ensure threats are detected early, investigated thoroughly and resolved efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Lead security monitoring across enterprise environments using SIEM, EDR and cloud security platforms, reviewing alerts and tuning detection rules.
• Investigate security alerts, conduct threat hunting, and correlate threat intelligence with internal telemetry.
• Coordinate incident response activities, produce detailed incident reports and post‑incident reviews.
• Develop and maintain playbooks, runbooks and standard operating procedures.
• Lead vulnerability assessment activities, track remediation and provide risk‑based recommendations.
• Prepare and present security metrics, operational reports and risk summaries.

Required profile

• Experienced security operations professional with a strong investigative mindset.
• Ability to analyse data from multiple sources, identify patterns and communicate findings to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Curious, methodical and capable of escalating complex issues appropriately.
