Senior React Native Engineer (Mobile)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior React Native Engineer to own and evolve our flagship mobile e‑commerce application. Based in Melbourne, you will work on a high‑traffic product that processes thousands of concurrent transactions daily, delivering fast and reliable experiences to users.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain high‑performance, reusable React Native code for iOS and Android.
• Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimise responsiveness and ensure smooth animations.
• Contribute to architectural decisions that support rapid feature scaling and high‑traffic events.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines, manage App Store and Google Play releases.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers and backend engineers.
• Mentor mid‑level and junior engineers, fostering best practices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years building production‑ready React Native apps.
• Experience with high‑traffic mobile applications where performance and conversion are critical.
• Full working rights in Australia and based in Melbourne.
• Excellent communication skills and a data‑driven approach to problem solving.

Required skills

• React Native, JavaScript, TypeScript, React hooks, state‑management libraries.
• Native mobile development knowledge (Swift, Objective‑C, Kotlin, Java).
• Payment gateway integration, mobile analytics, crash reporting, A/B testing.
• GraphQL, Apollo Client, micro‑frontends, monorepo structures.
• .Net exposure, CI/CD pipelines, App Store and Google Play deployment.
