Senior React Native Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior React Native Engineer to own and evolve our flagship mobile e‑commerce application. Based in Melbourne, you will work on a high‑traffic product that processes thousands of concurrent transactions daily, delivering fast and reliable experiences for our users.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain high‑performance, reusable React Native code for iOS and Android.
• Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimise responsiveness, and ensure smooth animations across devices.
• Lead the architectural direction to support rapid feature scaling and major sales events.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and manage releases through the App Store and Google Play consoles.
• Collaborate with product, design and backend teams to define API contracts and deliver seamless checkout flows.
• Mentor mid‑level and junior engineers, conduct code reviews and promote technical excellence.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years focused on production‑ready React Native apps.
• Proven track record on high‑traffic mobile applications, preferably in e‑commerce, fintech or marketplace domains.
• Based in Melbourne with full Australian working rights.
• Excellent communication skills and a data‑driven approach to solving performance issues.

• Secure payment‑gateway integration
• GraphQL and Apollo Client (bonus)
• Micro‑frontends or monorepo structures for mobile (bonus)
