Senior Quality Assurance Analyst (Australia Timezone)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst to join a cloud‑native, event‑driven platform built on REST APIs, microservices and asynchronous workflows. The role operates on Australian business hours and involves owning test strategy, automation, and release readiness for a multi‑tenant SaaS solution.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement comprehensive test strategies for cloud‑native, event‑driven software.
• Develop end‑to‑end test plans for complex, multi‑workstream releases.
• Coordinate testing across engineering, product, operations and third‑party vendors.
• Manage test execution, environments, dependencies and release readiness across concurrent initiatives.
• Build and maintain automated test suites using modern frameworks for continuous quality validation.
• Apply Acceptance Test‑Driven Development (ATDD) to align testing with business and user requirements.
• Validate multi‑tenant platform behaviour, tenant isolation and configuration‑driven functionality.
• Validate regional deployments, localisation and market‑specific configurations.
• Lead defect triage, root‑cause analysis and quality reviews.
• Provide regular reporting on testing progress, quality metrics, risks and release readiness.
• Champion shift‑left testing and quality‑engineering practices.
• Mentor junior QA analysts through peer reviews, coaching and documentation.

Required profile

• Deep expertise validating complex backend infrastructure and business‑critical transaction flows.
• Strong planning, coordination and organisational skills to manage multiple testing activities.
• Analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on early risk identification.
• Clear communicator comfortable presenting outcomes to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Genuine interest in mentoring and coaching less experienced colleagues.

Required skills

• Automation frameworks and tooling such as Jest and Postman/Newman.
• CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions.
• Testing of REST APIs and distributed applications.
• Experience with ATDD and continuous integration/continuous delivery principles.
• Knowledge of cloud‑native messaging services (AWS EventBridge, SQS/SNS, Redis‑backed queuing).
• Understanding of multi‑tenant SaaS platforms and configuration‑driven applications.
