Senior Project Manager

About the role

The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead major capital works projects along one of Australia’s most iconic coastlines. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality infrastructure that balances community needs, environmental protection, and cultural heritage.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of capital works projects, often exceeding $10M.
• Manage scope, budget, timelines, risk, and quality outcomes.
• Administer and supervise design and construction contracts.
• Prepare tender documentation and oversee procurement processes.
• Coordinate consultants and contractors to produce tender‑ready designs and construction outcomes.
• Engage stakeholders including community groups, government agencies, and funding partners.
• Produce high‑quality reporting such as project updates, board papers, and financial statements.
• Develop business cases, project briefs, and governance documentation.
• Ensure compliance with OHS, cultural heritage, planning, and environmental requirements.
• Mentor team members and support capability development across the organisation.

Required profile

• Degree in Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Management or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience managing complex capital works projects, preferably in civil or building environments.
• Strong capability in contract administration, procurement, and financial management.
• Experience delivering projects in sensitive or coastal environments is desirable.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
• White Card and a current driver’s licence.
