Senior Project Manager

About the role

RPS is looking for an experienced client‑side Senior Project Manager to lead the Mutitjulu Essential Services and Renewables Project in the remote Indigenous township of Mutitjulu, near Uluru. The role operates on a rotating Monday‑to‑Friday drive‑in/drive‑out roster with off‑weeks based in the Alice Springs office, offering exposure to Central Australia and its outdoor pursuits.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of the Mutitjulu Essential Services and Renewables Project from concept to completion.
• Manage construction contracts and contract administration, ensuring compliance and performance.
• Coordinate civil engineering works including power distribution, sewer, water infrastructure, solar installations and Battery Energy Storage Systems.
• Engage with clients, stakeholders and contractors to maintain strong relationships and clear communication.
• Oversee on‑site health and safety practices and ensure all regulatory requirements are met.

Required profile

• 10+ years recent construction project experience, preferably client‑side (senior role) or 5+ years for a project manager role.
• Professional qualification in project management, engineering, construction management or related field.
• Civil engineering experience with power, water, sewer or renewable energy infrastructure is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to manage construction contracts and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong client and stakeholder management, leadership and communication skills.
• Completed construction site health and safety course.
• AIPM Certified Practising Project Manager certification or equivalent is a plus.
• Australian citizenship or ability to obtain Defence Baseline security clearance.

• Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Microsoft Project (desirable).
• Construction contract administration.

• Health and safety compliance.
• AIPM Certified Practising Project Manager (or equivalent).
