Senior Project Manager - Immediate Start

About the role

Western Power is establishing a cross‑functional team to deliver a high‑priority safety project. The Senior Project Manager will set up the project quickly, coordinate contributions across multiple functions, and provide data‑driven insights to senior sponsors.

Key responsibilities

• Define scope, deliverables, timelines, governance and team structure in the early weeks.
• Coordinate workstreams from Fleet, Safety, HR, Data, People Capability and Operations into a single program.
• Manage stakeholder engagement with joint sponsors, executives and functional leads, delivering clear updates.
• Integrate findings from an external safety investigation into project outputs.
• Drive quality data and insights to underpin decisions and recommendations.
• Apply Western Power’s project management methodology, governance and reporting standards.
• Identify, monitor and manage risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies.
• Report progress to sponsors and the Portfolio Management Office on an agreed cadence.

Required profile

• Industry accreditation in project management (PMBOK®, Prince2™, MSP™ or RegPM).
• 8+ years of experience delivering complex, time‑critical, cross‑functional projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at all organisational levels.
• Ability to operate at a whole‑organisation level while moving at pace.
• Proven planning, resource, budget and quality‑assurance capabilities.
• Sound commercial judgement and ability to translate complex inputs into clear deliverables.
• Available to start immediately and commit fully for the 12‑month duration.
