Senior Project Architect

About the role

Next Executive is partnering with a leading Perth‑based architectural practice to hire an experienced Senior Project Architect. The role offers ownership of complex, medium to large‑scale projects, leading multidisciplinary teams and ensuring design excellence from documentation through construction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery and documentation of medium to large‑scale architectural projects.
• Manage and mentor an internal team of architects and technicians.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams across structural, building services and compliance disciplines.
• Oversee project documentation, quality assurance and technical coordination.
• Maintain design integrity by working closely with design architects and interior designers.
• Manage programme, resources, project costs and fee variations.
• Represent the practice in client, consultant and construction meetings.
• Navigate design‑and‑construct environments, including novated consultant arrangements and value engineering.
• Collaborate with major contractors throughout construction.

Required profile

• 7+ years post‑graduate architectural experience with significant post‑DA project delivery exposure.
• Proven track record delivering medium to large‑scale, technically complex projects.
• Strong technical documentation, detailing and construction knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability to lead architectural teams and coordinate external consultants.
• Experience working with Tier 1 builders and within D&C procurement environments.
• Sound understanding of project programmes, resourcing and commercial considerations.
• Experience with project delivery platforms such as Aconex or Procore.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
