Senior Production Manager – Beef Processing

About the role

A major Australian beef processing business is seeking an experienced senior production leader for a key operational role at its large‑scale Queensland facility. The role involves frontline leadership of a sizable workforce in a fast‑paced, highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead large production teams in a high‑volume beef processing environment.
• Coach and develop supervisors and frontline leaders.
• Deliver production targets for throughput, yield, labour utilisation and quality.
• Drive safety, accountability and workforce engagement.
• Manage labour effectively against changing production requirements.
• Identify and implement operational improvements.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, quality, animal welfare and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, QA, HR, Planning and other operational functions.

Required profile

• Strong operational leadership experience within beef processing.
• Proven ability to manage large frontline workforces.
• Understanding of yield, throughput, labour utilisation and production KPIs.
• Capability to develop supervisors and create accountability.
• Demonstrated safety and quality leadership.
• Hands‑on approach to operational problem solving.
• Confidence to operate as part of a senior site leadership team.
