Senior PMO Manager - Investments/Superannuation

About the role

Mercer Super is looking for a Senior PMO Manager to lead the PMO capability for its Change & Transformation group. The role is based in Melbourne or Sydney and is hybrid, with at least three days a week in the office. It combines delivery enablement with operational leadership, giving the business and portfolio team a trusted view of progress, risks, dependencies, capacity, financials, benefits and decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Set the PMO service model, priorities, ways of working and allocation of work across the PMO team
• Coach and develop PMO analysts, with clear ownership, quality expectations and escalation paths
• Maintain portfolio governance forums, decision rights, escalation paths, stage gates and minimum information requirements
• Own portfolio reporting and insights, including RAG status, milestones, spend, benefits, risks, issues and dependencies
• Establish consistent approaches to integrated planning, milestone tracking, critical path visibility, baseline management and change control
• Partner with delivery leaders and stakeholders to improve reporting quality, assurance, risk in change practices and continuous improvement

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in PMO, portfolio, program or transformation delivery roles within a complex organisation
• Experience establishing or improving PMO operating models, governance, standards, tools and reporting disciplines
• Tertiary qualification in business, project or program management, change, finance or a related discipline
• Experience in financial services, superannuation preferred
• Experience leading, coaching or coordinating PMO practitioners in a complex environment is a plus
