Senior People & Capability Business Partner

About the role

A respected Australian university with seven campuses across the country is recruiting a Senior People & Capability Business Partner. The role acts as a trusted advisor to executive and senior leaders, turning organisational priorities into workforce, capability and culture outcomes. It is a newly created senior position based in Fitzroy, Melbourne or North Sydney.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with executive and senior leaders to deliver strategic people and workforce solutions.
• Lead workforce planning, organisational design, transformation, talent and capability initiatives.
• Act as a trusted advisor on complex, sensitive and high-risk people matters.
• Use workforce insights and data to identify emerging trends, risks and talent needs, ensuring solutions align with legislation, enterprise agreements and governance frameworks.
• Coach and mentor P&C team members to strengthen capability and consistency across the function.

Required profile

• Accomplished senior HR/P&C professional with credibility and commercial judgement as a strategic partner to executive leadership.
• HR qualification with extensive generalist experience across ER/IR, workforce planning, organisational design and complex people matters.
• Proven experience partnering with executives on strategic people, workforce and organisational matters.
• Demonstrated experience leading large-scale change, transformation and organisational design initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation, enterprise agreements and governance, with experience in talent, succession and workforce capability planning.
