Senior Network Engineer

About the role

Telstra is looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join its Mobile Service Edge team within the Core & Internet Engineering portfolio. The role supports strategic network transformation, operational stability, infrastructure modernisation and lifecycle management across critical network platforms, working across multi-vendor environments with engineering, operations, architecture and delivery teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, support and optimise network infrastructure across large-scale environments
• Deliver network migration and modernisation initiatives
• Support operational stability, resilience and service reliability
• Perform root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement
• Develop and maintain automation solutions to improve operational efficiency
• Contribute to platform lifecycle management, technology refresh and transformation programs
• Support change implementation, incident management and problem resolution
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery

Required profile

• 10+ years of network engineering experience in large enterprise or service provider environments
• Proven experience delivering network migration and transformation projects
• Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical network services
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills

Required skills

• Cisco and/or Juniper platforms
• BGP, OSPF, HSRP/VRRP, STP and routing and switching
• Network automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Cloud networking and hybrid infrastructure

Preferred certifications include CCNA / CCNP, JNCIA / JNCIS / JNCIP, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or other network automation or cloud certifications.
