Senior Mobile Engineer - React Native/JavaScript/TypeScript (Expo)

About the role

Forwood is looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer to own and evolve its production mobile application used in high‑risk, real‑world environments. You will work remotely, building, shipping, and operating a React Native app with Expo for iOS and Android devices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of high‑quality mobile UIs in React Native with Expo, ensuring performance on phones and tablets.
• Build, secure, and maintain mobile APIs and SDK integrations, collaborating with backend engineers on AWS services (ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3).
• Drive end‑to‑end App Store and Google Play releases, including CI/CD automation, signing, distribution, and automated testing.
• Use agentic AI tools (e.g., CursorAI, Claude Code) for planning, code generation, refactoring, test creation, and documentation, with strong human review.
• Develop and maintain unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests for iOS and Android, enforcing high coverage and reliability.
• Implement static analysis, type safety, performance benchmarks, and observability practices such as crash monitoring and logging.
• Mentor mid‑level engineers on mobile best practices and quality culture.

• Senior‑level engineer comfortable in a lean, fast‑moving startup environment.
• Proactive owner of the mobile stack with strong judgment and ability to make pragmatic technical decisions.
• Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams and delivering production‑grade mobile applications.
