Senior Mining Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a highly organised and driven Senior Mining Engineer to join our Aquila underground coal operation in Middlemount, Queensland. The role supports autonomous longwall systems and translates medium‑ and long‑term strategies into actionable, task‑based outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Utilise Mine Planned to develop short and medium term mine plans and co‑ordinate the PTM process on site.
• Break down medium‑ and long‑term plans into coordinated, task‑based outcomes and manage project groups as required.
• Conduct frequent underground inspections to support work planning and collect technical performance metrics.
• Collaborate with mining, geotechnical, geological and survey teams to deliver best‑practice technical services aligned with the annual mine plan.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience as a Supervisor/Coordinator or Senior Mining Engineer within a Technical Services team.
• Experience working in underground mining, preferably coal.
• Degree qualified in Engineering or a related field.
