Senior Mechanical Engineer - Tier 1 Mechanical Contractor

About the role

A Tier 1 mechanical contractor with a strong pipeline of landmark projects across Brisbane and Southeast Queensland is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer. Reporting to the Engineering Manager and Project Leadership Team, you will provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring engineering excellence, project compliance and successful delivery of large-scale commercial, healthcare, data centre, infrastructure and industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering design coordination and technical delivery
• Review and manage HVAC, mechanical services and building services designs
• Provide engineering support to project and site teams
• Manage value engineering initiatives and design optimisation
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, clients and internal stakeholders
• Support procurement, commissioning and project handover
• Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and project specifications
• Mentor and develop junior engineers

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 8+ years' experience in building services or mechanical contracting
• Proven experience delivering large-scale commercial construction projects
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong commercial awareness

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building services systems
• Ability to lead technical outcomes in a fast-paced project environment
