Senior Manager, Internal Audit (Compliance)

About the role

Airwallex is seeking a Senior Manager for Internal Audit (Compliance) to design and execute risk‑based audit plans, leveraging data analytics and deep expertise in financial crime and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with business stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and support the company’s growth in a fast‑moving fintech environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive, risk‑based audit plans and testing procedures for compliance audits, focusing on high‑risk areas.
• Execute audit fieldwork, assess control effectiveness, and produce insightful reports for senior management and the Audit Committee.
• Build and use data analysis tools (e.g., Python, Databricks, Looker) to improve audit efficiency and detect emerging risks.
• Manage stakeholder communication, ensuring audit recommendations are understood and implemented.
• Monitor remediation of audit findings and stay current with regulatory changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• 5‑8 years of experience as a professional auditor or financial‑industry practitioner.
• Strong knowledge of financial crime compliance, fraud, card‑scheme compliance and enterprise risk management.
• Experience with banking regulators such as MAS, APRA, FCA, etc.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
