Senior Manager – Governance (Contract)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced governance leader to join a large, complex organisation on a contract basis. The Senior Manager – Governance will work closely with senior executives and key governance committees to ensure high‑quality decision‑making and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead governance support for executive and board‑level committees.
• Provide strategic governance and secretariat advice to senior leadership.
• Coordinate board and committee papers, agendas, and minutes.
• Oversee corporate governance frameworks, policies, and compliance activities.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to embed strong governance practices.
• Support statutory and regulatory compliance obligations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a governance team while driving continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in corporate or board governance, or executive secretariat functions.
• Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, compliance, and risk management.
• Proven ability to work with senior executives, boards, or executive committees.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and report‑writing skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience.
