Senior Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

Anduril Australia is building un‑crewed maritime and air systems that rely on unsupervised autonomy for long‑endurance, multi‑mission capability. The Senior Machine Learning Engineer will lead the development, testing, validation, and deployment of machine‑learning‑based sensor processing across the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate and support ML models for perception and data pipelines across multiple sensor modalities.
• Build software to automate the ML lifecycle, including data management, labeling, training, and deployment.
• Manage model selection, validation, regression testing, and continuous integration in a classified environment.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, and systems engineers to ensure seamless system integration and testing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Senior‑level experience delivering production‑grade software with mature ML components.
• Proven ability to define and implement robust validation and verification strategies with data scientists and stakeholders.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) security clearance.

Required skills

• Python, C++, Go, Rust programming.
• ML Ops tools: data acquisition, labeling, pipeline management, CI/CD, model versioning, monitoring.
• Deep learning frameworks: PyTorch.
• Workflow orchestration: Flyte, Airflow, Kubeflow.
• Inference engines: TensorRT.
• Computer vision, edge ML applications, and data management/traceability techniques.
