Senior Legal Counsel – Data Protection & Compliance

About the role

GHD is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to support the Head of Compliance and Integrity and the Corporate Legal team. The role combines legal advisory duties with data protection and compliance responsibilities across the regions where GHD operates.

Key responsibilities

• Administer GHD’s privacy program and maintain the Record of Processing Activities.
• Review and assess GHD’s data processing activities and draft privacy notices.
• Advise cross‑functional groups on global data‑protection regulation compliance.
• Collaborate with regional legal teams to improve compliance frameworks.
• Draft, review and negotiate data processing agreements, including international transfer mechanisms.
• Identify and assess data‑protection and related risks, driving process improvements.
• Manage data‑subject rights requests and respond to personal data breaches.

Required profile

• Admitted to practice law in a jurisdiction where GHD operates.
• Proven track record advising on and implementing global data‑protection regulations.
• Proactive mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in complex, fast‑moving environments.
