Senior Lecturer (Level C) Social Work – Field Education Lead

About the role

Griffith University is seeking a Senior Lecturer (Level C) to lead the field education program for its Bachelor and Master of Social Work degrees. The role combines high‑impact teaching, applied professional practice, and research within the School of Allied Health, Sport and Social Work.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage industry placement partnerships across health, community, government and related sectors.
• Coordinate all aspects of student placements, including preparation, matching, support, monitoring and assessment.
• Ensure placement compliance through policies, procedures, records and regulatory requirements.
• Provide expert stakeholder engagement and resolve complex placement and student matters.
• Deliver high‑quality teaching, applied learning, research and industry partnerships to enhance student employability.

Required profile

• Doctoral or master’s qualification (or equivalent accreditation) in Social Work or a related field.
• Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
• At least five years of applied practice experience and field‑education experience.
• Strong commitment to practice‑informed, student‑centred teaching.
• Experience coordinating courses and contributing to program quality and accreditation.
