The School of Communication and Arts at a leading Australian university seeks a Senior Lecturer in Drama. This full‑time permanent role combines teaching, research and creative practice, allowing you to shape the next generation of theatre‑makers while advancing your own scholarly profile.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver undergraduate, honours and postgraduate courses, including foundational surveys and practice‑led subjects.
• Design and coordinate curricula, assess student work and provide academic counselling.
• Establish a research programme, secure funding, publish in reputable journals and collaborate on projects.
• Supervise honours and Higher Degree Research students, ensuring research integrity and supporting career development.
• Engage in university service, mentorship, partnership development and committee work.

Required profile

• PhD in Drama or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated expertise in directing and dramaturgy.
• Specialisation in a defined area of theatre studies (e.g., early modern or twentieth‑century theatre) with broad canonical knowledge.
• Proven record of high‑quality university teaching across multiple levels.
• Experience leading and innovating course design and curriculum development.

What we offer

• Base salary ranging from $143,099 to $164,748 per annum plus 17% superannuation.
