Senior Lecturer in AI – Information Technology

About the role

Southern Cross University is expanding its Information Technology discipline and seeks a senior academic to shape and deliver advanced AI curriculum from 2027 onward. The role involves teaching, research and industry engagement in cutting‑edge AI technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver innovative AI units for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, covering large language models, multimodal AI, fine‑tuning, retrieval‑augmented generation and agentic AI.
• Contribute to AI research, publications and collaborative projects, and build industry and community connections.

Required profile

• PhD focused on Artificial Intelligence.
• Relevant qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated teaching and research experience in AI, IT or Data Science.

Required skills

• Expertise in large language models (LLMs), multimodal AI, fine‑tuning, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) and agentic AI.
• Strong publication record in leading AI venues.
