About the role

The University of Western Australia seeks a Senior Lecturer to lead academic activities in Initial Teacher Education, focusing on professional experience and curriculum development. This full‑time, tenurable position will contribute to teaching excellence, research, and strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality teaching, research and higher degree supervision in Initial Teacher Education and coordinate related courses.
• Lead the design, development and delivery of professional experience units, and oversee related policies and accreditation activities.
• Coordinate units and courses, supervise postgraduate and doctoral candidates, and support the university’s strategic goals.

Required profile

• Doctorate in Education or a closely related discipline.
• Proven record of teaching in higher education, especially initial teacher education and mentoring pre‑service teachers.
• Experience leading professional experience programmes and implementing quality assurance processes.
• Strong research portfolio with successful supervision of masters and doctoral students and ability to obtain research funding.
• Demonstrated leadership and engagement with external education communities and professional bodies.
• Preferably experience in school settings and accreditation processes within Australia.

• Base salary range Level C: AUD 144,143 – 165,809 per annum (pro‑rata) plus 17 % superannuation.
